This tutorial will help in installation of Cydia tweaks if you have already achieved jailbreak on your iOS 12 or iOS 12.1.2 powered iPhone/iPad with rootlessJB.

rootlessJB is basically a developer-centric solution to untethered jailbreak the iPhone X, XS Max, 8 Plus, 7 Plus, 6S, iPad Air or Mini. This is because you won’t get the normal Cydia after using rootlessJB to install Cydia tweaks.

However, if you are too eager to try out Cydia tweaks on your iOS device running on iOS 12 or later, then worry not. Luckily, with a little workaround, it is possible to install Cydia Tweaks on iOS device which is jailbroken using rootlessJB.

Install Cydia tweaks with rootlessJB iOS 12 Jailbreak

rootlessJB is similar to Electra Jailbreak in some aspects. In order to install a tweak on iOS 12 device, you will need to patch package using patcherplus. Apart from that, iFunBox will also be required in order to transfer that tweak package to iOS device.

Steps to Install Cydia Tweaks after rootlessJB iOS 12 – 12.1.2 Jailbreak

Worry not, we will explain all steps in details to install Cydia tweak on iPhone running and jailbroken on iOS 12 using rootlessJB.

Pre-Requirements

  • macOS system running on macOS Mojave.
  • iPhone/iPad running on iOS 12 or iOS 12.1.2
  • FilzaEscaped
  • iFunBox

Step by step tutorial

Step 1: Launch Terminal on your macOS computer from Applications -> Utilities.

Step 2: Enter the following command followed by hitting Enter to install Homebrew:

ruby -e “$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)”

Step 3: When installation of Homebrew is completed, enter the following command to install dpkg package:

brew install dpkg

Step 4: Now we need to install Debian package. For that, download patcherplus latest version and place it on desktop.

Step 5: Extract the contents of package.

Step 6: Download the Debian file of Cydia tweak which you want to install on your iPhone using rootlessJB for iOS 12/12.1.2.

Step 7: Again go to Terminal window and type chmod+x.

Step 8: Drag the patcherplus file inside Terminal.

Step 9: Run ./patcherplus command to start it.

Step 10: Select the patch .deb option by pressing 1 on your keyboard. Drag the Cylinger_1.0.6.deb to “enter deb to patch”.

Step 11: Now you will be required to enter the name of Cydia tweak. Now instead of entering name, you need to enter the location of that Tweak. It will be something like this:

/Users/<your username>/Desktop/

Step 12: Patcher will take sometime to patch the Cydia tweak package. Once it is done, you will see new folder named “Library”.

Step 13: In this Library folder, you will find your patched Cydia tweak. Now next step is transferring that patched Cydia tweak to iPhone using iFunBox.

Step 14: Launch iFunBox on your macOS.

Step 15: Connect your jailbroken iOS 12 powered iDevice to macOS.

Step 16: Under General Storage, go to Media and create new folder named anything. Once done, drag and drop the patched Cydia tweak there.

Step 17: Now Launch Filza file manager. Go to -/var/mobile/Media/.

Step 18: Copy the files present there one by one to /var/containerrs/Bundle/tweaksupport./

Step 19: Restart your iPhone.

Step 20: Now launch rootlessJB to jailbreak it again in order to get the Cydia tweak functional.
