I personally use the Notes app a lot on my iPhone, from keeping short to do list to notes, it is pretty useful. Recently, Apple added great features to the Notes app that allows users to password protect their important notes. Apart from it, these protected notes can be then accessed by either FaceID or Touch ID as well, on supported devices.
How to Change Notes App Password on iPhone/iPad in iOS 12
If you are here in search of a tutorial to change the password of Notes in iOS 12 on your iPhone or iPad, then let me tell you its is pretty straight forward.
Without any further ado, lets proceed with steps required to change password in Notes app:
On iOS Devices
Step 1: Launch Settings on your iDevice. Go to Notes.
Step 2: There, look for “Password” option. Tap on “Change Password” option.
Step 3: You will be required to enter your old password first, so do so. Once done, enter your desired new password and confirm it. When done with that, tap on “Done” button.
On macOS (Macbook)
Step 1: Open Notes app.
Step 2: Go to Preferences and then Change Password.
Step 3: Enter the old password and then the new password (twice). Once done, click on “Change Password” option.
It is worth mentioning that with your new password, you can only password protect the new notes. In order to apply this new password to old protected notes, you will need to unlock them, remove the password and then password protect them again.
It is recommended especially that you incorporate passwords if you are putting confidential or private personal information in your notes, and that you use a password that is different than the password you use to get into your phone.
